Cancellation Policy

NO REFUNDS AFTER MAY 1st! In order to receive a partial refund, you must notify the Swim School before May 1st. The Annual Family Administration fee is non-refundable but remains valid for one year from the date it was paid. We will gladly give you the remaining CREDIT on your account for future registrations, though.

Make-ups

In order to maintain the integrity of our classes both as to content and to size, we do NOT offer make-ups. We have found that adding swimmers to classes for make-ups disrupts the rhythm, integrity, and safety of the class. Please do your best to attend! Therefore, Dolfin Swim School will only do make-ups for our cancellations due to threatening lightning conditions. Sorry, no make-ups for illnesses, vacations, or recitals.

Pool Facilities

Most classes are conducted at the private residences of our Swim School parents. As a courtesy, please make sure that your child has used the restroom before class. Also, NO FOOD allowed on the premises.

Open House

In order to make an easy transition the first day of classes, each pool will have an optional Open House at the pool from 4:00-5:00 p.m. the Sunday before classes begin at that pool. Bring your little swimmer, look at the pool and toys, meet an Instructor, and be ready for drop-off on the first day of classes. ( Sorry, no swimming at the Open House!)

Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

In order to make the transition smooth for our lessons, we require our parents to follow our drop-off and pick-up procedures for your location. A directional driving map will be sent to you before your class begins.

Parent Visitation Day

The last day of each session is for our “Dolfin trainees” to show-off their new skills. Please plan on attending with your cameras and videos.

Inclement Weather

Classes are canceled ONLY due to heavy rain and lightning. Assume that classes will be held unless you receive a phone call on your CELL PHONE at least 30 minutes before your class time. Stormy day make-ups are scheduled the Friday immediately following the canceled class. LIMIT: ONE (1) per session.

Proper Attire for under 3.5 yr. olds

All swimmers 3.5 yrs. old and younger must be double diapered to take a swim lesson at Dolfin Swim School. If there is ANY doubt about an older swimmer, please get a swim pant for him/her. To clarify what double diapering means: it’s a disposable swim “pant” (diaper) underneath a second material swim “pant” (diaper). We understand that some children may be fully potty trained at 2.5 yrs. old and even younger. However, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Lest you think your child is beyond that problem because of his/her age, let me inform you that the last 7 pool closings were all swimmers 3 yrs. old to as old as 6 yrs.!! They were having too much “fun” to get out of the pool to go potty. Even our 3-5 yr. old swimmers need to be reminded that they must get out of the pool to go potty.

Please bring ONLY a towel and flip-flops or crocs. To be effective, apply waterproof, S.P.F. 40 sun block 30 minutes PRIOR TO class. Do NOT apply as your swimmer is getting out of the car!

Baby Dolfin class participants will all receive a FREE material swim diaper at the first class to use Parents must provide a disposable swim diaper each day.

Pod Squad Class

If you have a play group of friends that would like to take swimming together, please notify the office as to which class you prefer. We will change that class into your very own Pod Squad class reserved just for your friends. You will receive registration preference!

Siblings Class

This class is for families that have two siblings that are fairly close in age and ability but want the convenience of having their swimmers in the same class. We will still challenge each of them to the utmost.

Water Watcher for Dolfin 1 and 1-2 classes only

We would like the assistance of a veteran Dolfin Swim School parent to assist with Dolfin 1 and Dolfin 1-2 classes. We prefer the Water Watcher to not be distracted by a toddler-in-tow. If you would like to be a Dolfin Water Watcher, please note that in the “Comment” section on the registration form. Dolfin Swim School will notify the parent that she/he has been selected as the class Water Watcher prior to the first class. Job description is as follows:
  1. Arriving at the pool five (5) minutes before the scheduled class time.
  2. Assisting the Instructor or Assistant walking the students from their cars to the pool area and back for pick-up.
  3. Providing non-swimming assistance such as taking swimmers to the bathroom, fixing barrettes or ponytails, etc.
  4. Keeping a watchful eye on the step area at all times.
  5. Making sure all parents in their class have their waiver and release signed and turned in to Dolfin by the second day.
** To maintain a positive learning environment, we request that only children involved in the lessons come, except for Baby Dolfin classes where older siblings may watch the class.

Thanks SO MUCH for your cooperation!!!
