Baby Dolfin (Ages 3 months to 2.5 years)
Developed over the past 25 yrs., Dolfin teaches an excellent Baby Dolfin class. This is a mommy/daddy and infant/toddler class that teaches aquatic skills in a progressively structured, yet fun way. Most of our skills are choreographed to songs. Using a variety of toys, we teach progressive toy retrieval, back floating, breath holding that leads to swimming independently, jumping, and other important skills. Also included are daily safety lessons for babies around pools. Come be amazed!
Dolfin 1 (Ages 2.5 to 4 years)
For swimmers who have graduated from the Baby Dolfin class, are new to Dolfin Swim School, or who are not yet comfortable in water. Swimmers learn to retrieve toys independently on the steps. They learn breath control, bobbing, back floating, streamline gliding, start rollover breathing, blast-off, jump and dive with assistance. Our goal for the swimmer is to be able to swim across the pool with assistance. Beginner safety skills introduced.
Dolfin 1-2 (Ages 3 to 4.5 years)
For swimmers who have learned all the Dolfin 1 skills with assistance but are not able to do them independently yet. Our goal is that the swimmer is able to motorboat rollover by him/herself to the length of the pool and blast-off back to graduate to Dolfin 2. Elementary backstroke introduced. Beginner safety skills reinforced.
Dolfin 2 (Ages 4 to 6 years)
This is where the swimmer learns freestyle properly. We teach each part of the stroke separately, then add them together. Our goal is that the swimmer is able to do one length of freestyle and elementary backstroke independently to graduate to Dolfin 2-3. We will also introduce backstroke. Jump and dive by themselves. More advanced safety skills practiced!
Dolfin 2-3 (Ages 4.5 to 6.5 years)
Can be a combination of Dolfin 2's and Dolfin 3's, or it can be a more advanced Dolfin 2 class. They will know freestyle with rotary breathing, but have not yet mastered it for a lap of the pool. Refining freestyle and backstroke will be the main focus, plus the introduction of breaststroke. Advanced safety skills too!
Dolfin 3 (Ages 5 to 7 years)
Swimmers must be able to do freestyle with rotary breathing for a lap of the pool. They master breaststroke in this class. They continue to increase their distance on freestyle and backstroke. Open turns and racing dives accomplished. Advanced safety skills.
Dolfin 3-4 (Ages 5.5 to 10 years)
Can be a combination of Dolfin 3's and Dolfin 4's. Swimmers should know the Dolfin 3 skills of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke but don't yet have the endurance on these strokes to be able to swim 2-3 laps of them. They will be refining and building endurance on these strokes to move towards Dolfin 4 skills. Flip turns introduced. Extreme safety skills taught.
Dolfin 4 (Ages 6 to 12 years)
Mastery class for older swimmers. They have learned 3 of the 4 competitive strokes and will learn butterfly in this class. They will also increase their endurance on all 4 of the competitive strokes. Extras: sidestroke, surface dives, treading water, racing techniques, and conditioning. Games too! Great training for our Dallas Dolfins swim team!
Dallas Dolfins Swim Team (Ages 5 to 17)
